The fig (Ficus carica), member of the family Urticaceae, is a deciduous tree or bush that grows to 5-6 metres and has deeply lobed leaves and bulbous, fleshy growths which we call "fruits". The almond tree (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) in the family Rosaceae, grows to a grows to a height of about 7 metres. The fruit is classified as a drupe, similar to peach and plum, but is not edible.
